Fall is Here

Right after shooting a fun family portrait session last night, I was packing up my gear and quickly pulled my camera back out when I saw these reeds and the fall sunset that was upon them. The last bits of summer are fading away and the colors are starting to beautifully change. It was so nice to have a cooler night last night and I am so happy for fall's arrival. Some of my favorite things about fall is the yummy light, the beautiful warm colors in nature and the fabulous accessories that come with (scarfs!). Have a wonderful weekend and an even more wonderful start to fall.

A Walk Down Memory Lane: To Childhood Friends

I was looking through my hard drive for pictures for my mom for Mother's Day and came across these pictures taken almost a year ago. These two little beauties are BEST Friends, anyone that knows them would agree. They are both also very dear to my heart. The blonde is my beautiful niece Brinlee and the other is Savannah, a sweet little girl that I used to watch. These snapshots were taken on the day that I took Brinlee's 2 year old pictures in the field (hence the curlers in her hair). I love the pictures of them sitting on the ledge together as I was testing my camera and getting it ready for that night's shoot. The fact that Savannah has one sock on is so her :). Sweet Savannah has moved away, at least not too far that they can see each other occasionally and I know that Brin misses her dearly. I LOVE Winnie the Pooh, he is so wise for a fluffy ol' bear ;). This quote brought tears to my eyes as I thought of a child who doesn't spell but understands something so huge and intricate that many adults fail to miss. What it means to love and how to show love. I cannot forgot my sweet best friends from growing up that meant so much to me; Lauren T., Alyssa G., Whitney S., Kara P. and the amazing and fun adventures we had. Enjoy!

I had the opportunity to drive out to Las Vegas and take this sweet baby girl's new born pictures. It was such a wonderful experience, especially dealing with a client who is so adorable. Throughout the shoot, we all kept commenting on how pure and perfect babies are. It's hard not to feel or see that, especially when a new born's presence fills the room with such love and joy. Here is the beautiful Rose Family. They have a spectacular story about love. Julie knew from a very young age that she would never be able to bare her own children. Fortunately, she and Marc were able to adopt these little darlings and are planning to hopefully adopt again soon. Family is such a marvelous gift, whether you are able to bare your own or adopt. But knowing Julie and Marc's story makes you realize that adopting is truly a gift from Heavenly Father to be able to take in these beautiful children and have them touch your lives so incredibly much. The love they have for each other is such a beautiful thing and making this video for them truly touched our hearts. Enjoy.

Ashley is one of the greatest mom's I know and I was so happy and privileged to take some pictures of her pregnancy with her husband Mike. Erin is a GORGEOUS Mom and wanted to do a fun portrait session with me. I'm sure it is so nice to have a portrait session where you aren't worried about everyone else and you get to just have "me time." This session was SO much fun and pretty sure with every pair of High Heel's she put on I told her or thought to myself, "I want those!" So so cute! This family shoot in Texas was so fun and so eventful :). I absolutely love this family already, because when I am with them, all they do is make me laugh. So this already fun shoot, ended with a "splash" when cute Kate was standing next to me by the water's edge and she took a step back as she was talking to me and didn't realize where she was stepping. She fell in with me yelling, "Don't step in the WATER!" (Of course by the time I said water it was a high pitched, mother type of scream. :) Even though she fell completely into the reflection pool and was sopping wet, surprisingly her already dark clothes didn't look wet at all. We were able to finish the shoot and all kept laughing about what had happened. So, not only for that reason alone, I loved this family shoot and aren't they a gorgeous family? There are lots more to come!

This sweet baby reminds me of a perfect doll. She is so beautiful and I am so excited that I got the chance to take her newborn pictures. Here is a quick sneak peek of the fun Dimond Family! This was such a fun shoot because it reminded of all the teasing and laughter I have with my own family. Especially during the individual portraits, these siblings loved to give eachother a hard time and it wasn't quite as humorous once it was their turn. The Little Man is Turning 2!

This little guy is turning 2 and I am so happy we got to take pictures for it. This shoot was an absolute blast, mostly because of his fun, amazing mom. You definitely can see where this little guy gets his love for life, laughing and making other's laugh (he loved showing us his "MUSCLES!!", you have to say it with a grunt :), and his cute little belly button). Can I just say that this shoot was so amazing. Everything about it from the GORGEOUS Location, how gorgeous this bride and groom was, and how even her bouquet perfectly matched the surroundings in color. Love love love. Well I am finally back in town having been camping for the past week. Let me just say that I have been biting my nails in eagerness to edit this wedding (ok not really biting my nails because that has never been a habit of mine but you get the point). This darling and gorgeous couple flew me out to Colorado to shoot their wedding and I was so thrilled and excited for the opportunity. Their wedding took place in one of the most gorgeous Cathedrals I have had the opportunity to shoot, it reminded me of a church straight out of Old Europe with it's rose windows and dark lighting. This is just a tiny sneak peek and I promise to post lots more this week as I get caught up on all of my editing!
